On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, we are excited to once again have our event at The Common Ground (a.k.a. 9910 or 99ten) with a special guest instructor, Thomas Boivin, coming in to teach a one hour Tap for Salsa Dancers workshop.
The special workshop will be an introduction to the foundations of tap intended to improve your weight transfers and footwork precision in Salsa and Bachata shines. You do not need tap shoes for the workshop, but make sure your shoes are comfortable, supportive, and allow for turning.
We rotate partners throughout the dance class and the social dancing portion, so we have lots of singles that come out to the events and you do not need to come with a partner. These events are great for both meeting new people as well as a date night.
If you do come with a partner, you have the option not to rotate, though we highly recommend that you do to fully take advantage of the social aspect of the event as well as to enhance your learning experience during the dance classes.
Join us for a fun dance night at this beautiful venue! 💃🏼🌮🕺

About the Venue
The Common is located in the beautiful neighborhood of Grandin, steps from the Legislature and Edmonton's scenic river valley. The Common Ground (a.k.a. 9910 or 99ten) is equipped with a top of the line sound system, lighting, disco ball, a large dance space, and areas to lounge/socialize.
Cost
Cover for the Social Tuesdays event is $5 early bird (limited quantities, paid online) or $10 regular admission (cash only, paid either online or at check-in), which includes both the dance lessons and social dancing.
Other Considerations
Our ability to book premium, centrally located dance venues, depends entirely on whether attendees support the venue with food/drink sales.
It is usually recommended to have a minimum $15 per person spend. We have heard from our regulars that food/drink at dance events is an important component for our Tuesday dance nights, so please help us provide you with the best experience by planning to have dinner/drinks on site.
Food/Drinks
The Common kitchen runs seasonal menus that place an emphasis on creativity and quality. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian or gluten free they’ve got you covered.
Choose a drink from their curated selection of craft, small batch, local and imported beers as well as an innovative mix of herbal, vintage and modern cocktails, spirits and wines.
