Lindy With Friends 2024

Welcome to the 3rd edition of our workshop "Lindy with Friends", a rousing weekend of swing dancing! From 19 to 21 April 2024, this workshop invites you to discover the world of musicality in Lindy Hop.

You can expect an exciting course program from talented teachers - Elle & Joris and Usch & Roger. Look forward to an intensive weekend that will deepen your understanding of musical interpretation in swing dance. 

You can expect not only intensive lessons, music history talks, but also live music on Friday and Saturday to create the perfect swing atmosphere.
Immerse yourself in a weekend full of rhythmic discoveries and swing with us to the beat of the music!

Solidarity tickets

To enable people with financial difficulties to take part, we have a certain budget for solidarity tickets. You can increase the budget by voluntarily paying a higher price. If you are unable to attend because of the price, we encourage you to ask for a solidarity ticket at tickets@gruengold.de. As long as the budget is available, we will make this possible without further questions.

Leveldescription

Please read the following questions carefully and answer yourself whether this level is the right one. If you have difficulties, please ask your trainer to get a better assessment.

Beginner +

Have you already taken one or two basic courses?
Would you like to dive deeper into swing dancing?
Can you safely dance the basics such as 8-count, 6-count, send-out and some variations in the dance?
Maybe you already feel confident in one of the roles - leader or follower - and would like to use the workshop to change your perspective in order to deepen your understanding of your partner?

In this level, the trainers will develop your skills at your pace.

Intermediate

Do you dance regularly or intensively with different dance partners?
You know terms such as Swing Out, Lindy Turn, Circle, Tuck Turn, Side Pass, etc. and can dance it in class without further explanation?
In social dance, you are already starting to improvise and dissolve standard routines?

If you can answer YES to the majority of the questions, you'll find your Lindy Hop happiness this weekend here. We explicitly encourage you to change roles from time to time.

Advanced

You would like to intensify your communication with your partner in the dance or improve your understanding?
The musical interpretation is an important part of your dance?
Do you enjoy creating new, playful variations?
Your are familiar with different solo moves and have already internalized some routines (e.g. shim-sham) and enjoy incorporating them into your dance?
Do you enjoy it when the teachers challenge you personally?

Here you will be pushed to your limits with a lot of fun and energy. We explicitly encourage you to change roles from time to time.

With these tickets you get access to the courses in the respective level (9h or 8h), the solo course on Friday (1.5h) and the 3 parties.

Courses are held in English (Elle & Joris) or German (Usch & Roger).
