Luciana Da Silva, was born in South of Brazil from a family owners of a disco club, a place that exposed Luciana to artists, music, and dance since her early age.It was after her arrival in the USA Luciana began her studies in Belly Dance and Flamenco. She traveled to Spain to experiment with Flamenco and continued her studies in Denver, CO with several teachers.

In 2013 she spent 20 days in the Mangueira community in Rio de Janeiro studying intensively with Queen of Bateria of Mangueira Fabiana Oliveira who taught Luciana graceful passista style.

She has been training Samba ever since with some of the best teachers in Brazil where she travels on a regular base to keep her training up to date. In 2014 she paraded at carnaval in Rio with Mangueira Samba School and 2016 as a passista with Uniao da Ilha Samba School, those experiences taught Luciana the “real” carnival feeling of the biggest carnival celebration in the world.

She has been teaching Samba and other forms of Brazilian dance in Colorado for over a decade as well as the International Samba Congress in 2017, 2020, 2021 and 2023. Luciana is the producer of Viva Brazil Festival, an annual festival featuring the best artists from Brazil and local dancers. Luciana has also taught and performed Samba in Europe, Brazil and the USA.

She will be a Muse with União da Ilha Samba School in Rio as well as passista with Estacio de Sá, the first recognized Samba School in Brazil. She also takes group of dancers to Carnaval in Rio to experience her culture and Samba. She is passionate about her culture and sharing it with her students all over the world.
