Artist Bio

Local Austinite, and life long lover of movement & arts,  Hannah began with Kizomba as her first dance. She quickly fell in love with the movement, challenge, and connection. Hannah was one of the first NeoKiz apprentices, and soon began instructing under Charles Ogarocious & Favian Bustos. She taught Kizomba under NeoKiz and Inspired Movement, as well as collaborated with international artists such as Enah and Albir.

Hannah's first real exposure to Brazilian Zouk was a weekend of workshops with Kamacho - while she knew there was a lot of progress to make, she was determined to learn and bring the beautiful dance to Austin, TX. Hannah poured her resources into training, traveling to festivals, taking private lessons, and completing the  ZoukNY Instructor Course. She attributes much of her dance to artists/teachers such as: Paloma Alves, William Teixeira Diboa, Larissa Thayane, Alex de Carvalho, Val Clemente, Vanessa Bonilha, Bruno Galhardo and more.

Hannah was one of the original instructors/organizers in Austin/generally in Texas (dubbed the "Mother/Queen of Zouk in Austin"). She created the first curriculum used to kick-start the Zouk program at Inspired Movement, as well as built the curriculum for up and coming instructors under the IM program. Weekly group classes went from a handful of students to 50+ on a weekly basis.

Hannah separated from IM and began traveling to teach, compete, perform, and judge at domestic and international events. She has taught across the United States, in Canada, Mexico, Australia, Amsterdam, and Brazil. Hannah was also one of the first North American artists to qualify for the Brazilian Zouk Dance Council's Advanced tier of Jack and Jill, and continues to compete when she has the opportunity.

Hannah has organized/co-organized events in Austin, as well as in Mexico and Brazil - leading the Rio Zouk Holiday Training for its first 2 years. When she has the time, she organizes Zouk Labs in Austin - which are a deep dive with special topics and special artists. Hannah took some time off from teaching locally, and regrouped during pandemic down time.
