Social Tuesdays: Salsa Bachata Kizomba (SBK) Latin Dance Night

On Tuesday, February 14, 2023, we have a guest instructor teaching a 90 minute UrbanKiz workshop at our Social Tuesdays: SBK Latin Dance Night.

UrbanKiz - Walking with Confidence! workshop will be going over the proper technique of the UrbanKiz walk, as well as the mental aspects of learning to lead and follow with confidence in this dance.

A native Winnipegger, Samantha has been dancing for the past 12 years, training under nine-time world champions Regan and Harold for six years. Samantha is a gold medal winner at the national level and silver medal winner at the international level.  

Samantha caught the kiz bug about five years ago, and has been training intensely in UrbanKiz to develop her technique and skills. She has learned from the best UrbanKiz instructors in the world, including: Audi and Pam, Azzedine, Val’r and Steffy, Ledoux, Enah and Pocahontas, Jojo and Jenny, and Rina and Derrick. She completed JP and Stephy's teacher training course in the spring of 2022. Samantha travels often to kiz festivals across North America and Europe to keep up to date on the latest moves and techniques.

Samantha is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others and helping people become the best dancers they can be. She is patient and meets her students where they are to ensure that it is a non-threatening experience in a fun, inclusive environment. While in town, she is available for privates, so if you would like more in-depth one-on-one training, DM her for details via Facebook (samantha.fast.31).

The workshop will include partner work, but you do not need to bring a partner as we will rotate partners throughout the workshop. The workshop will be friendly to all ages/levels with something for everyone. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing you can easily move in and clean indoor shoes (comfortable heels or flats).

After the workshop we will have a Salsa, Bachata, and Kizomba (SBK) afterparty. Join us for a fun dance night at this beautiful venue! 💃🏼🌮🕺

Cost:

Cover for the Social Tuesdays event is $5 early bird (advance purchase via eventbrite) or $10 at the door (cash only, paid at the bar), which includes both the dance lesson/workshop and social dancing.

Food/Drinks:

We encourage attendees to support the venue through food/drink purchases to ensure the night remains viable. Drinks can be ordered all night, food must be ordered by 10:45 pm.

Taco Tuesday includes $3 tacos, $5 corona, and $5 tequila.

Happy Hour Specials from 4 pm to 7 pm includes $5 highballs, house wine or sleeves of local+domestic beer as well as 50% off the 50 flavour menu (wings, Riblets, etc.), so come early for a bite and some drinks!
