🗣️ Testimonials of Charles' Instruction:
"I really enjoyed the UrbanKiz refresher workshop in preparation for NeoKiz. It was broken down well with cycles of instruction, practice and time for questions, as well as practica with music through each section of the workshop to integrate the new skills we were learning.
Setting expectations in the beginning of the workshop by connecting into kindness, gentleness and curiosity/creativity was just what I needed to focus in and learn without frustration, and with much joy.
I look forward to future workshops and learning opportunities with Charles, and am excited for NeoKiz."
- Nicole Potts, Austin, TX
"Charles' method of teaching resonated with me because he isn't focused on simply teaching a pattern. He takes a concept and breaks it down first with solo exercises. Then he explains the structure and mechanics of the movement, what's possible, and how creativity can spawn from each step.
This allows me to see steps not as a preplanned recipe of movement, but a set of lego blocks that can be creatively arranged. This also lets me see movement as discrete units, like math or geometry, thus providing precision in how to understand moves or concepts. This is a far better approach than most instructions that are simply, "place your foot here, or move there"

"Your visit and leading us into the Denver workshop was a great learning experience for me. The workshop as a whole was beautifully instructed for all students with different dance levels. It kept us mentally encouraged and stimulated with the lovely banter, nerdy-ness, and musicality that brings into the lesson. I can also see that you have great adaptability. I’ve been to two workshops with you, this year and last year. It was two different experiences due to the fact of energy that the group of people brings into the class. Both are just as good of a learning experience, but different spices to savor."
- Betina Lacson, Denver, CO
