  routines. First place winners of the Opus Divisions take home the prestig
 ious title of Open Champion — and the coveted Opus trophy. And spectator
 s come to witness the most amazing dance performances that will be seen in
  one place at one time.\n\nThe Open is also home to the “Walk of Legends
 \,” an award given to those who have been legendary in their influence o
 n swing\, their contribution to making The Open Champion title so prestigi
 ous.\n\nOur 2024 event will be The Open Swing Dance Championships’ 40th 
 year\, which makes it one of the longest running swing competitions in the
  world. From novice to champion\, The Open is a magical event for everyone
  passionate about swing and dancing. Competitors\, social dancers and spec
 tators alike will be awed and entertained at this world class event like n
 o other!\n\nDoors open Wednesday\, November 27\, 2024 at 5pm\, and the fir
 st workshop and social dance of the weekend kicks off at 6pm.\n\nWe sugges
