Join us for the opening night of the 2023 Halifax Salsa ad Bachata Festival on the Halifax Waterfront (Foundation Wharf, next to the Saltyard). The theme of the night is Agua! colours to wear are white, aqua blue and tan.

We are going to kick things off with a family-friendly Salsa workshop starting at 7 pm followed by a Bachata workshop at 8 pm, then social dancing from 9 pm - 12 am!!

Come enjoy a night filled with Afro-Latin Music, food and Art! Including in our festival this year is a small BIPOC-inspired art exhibition (brought to you by the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and Sponsor by Art Pays Me & Tribe Network) Live Latin music with Frederic Mujica, and Afrobeats, amapiano, Latin pop and reggaeton with DJ Sheny.

Join us at the Courtyard of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and Bedford Row for our Street Market and Fiesta! We will have an Art exhibition (brought to you by the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and Sponsor by Art Pays Me) with artwork from local artists will be displayed in the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. In the Courtyard, we will have some dance workshops. On Bedford Row, we will have an open street market including crafts, food, a bouncing castle for kids, face painting and more.

Join us for the Main event!! Our 2023 Halifax Salsa and Bachata Festival will be including a Salsa and Bachata Gala Night at the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel in downtown Halifax. The Gala will be featuring a small dinner, dance performances from local and guest artists, and heat competition in Salsa and Bachata at the following level: Beginner (5 months or less of dancing), Intermediate (under 12 months of dancing), Inter/Advanced level (12 months or more of dancing).

The night will also feature two live bands, Frederic Mujica and Latinacion, making the night non-stop dancing to live music! We will then finish the night off with an After-Party back at Haliente till 3 am!!
