Genevieve Kayra

I am Genevieve Kayra, lovely to see you here.

I have been dancing since the age of 3, and weaving spiritual understanding through movement since that moment.

I began my dance journey with 18 years of classical ballet, contemporary, jazz and lyrical training, compettions and performance. 

After a small break in South America I started professionally in the latin, commercial, and Kizomba industries for the past 10 years, all the while studying alternative movement modalities.

I have been teaching Kizomba, Urban Kiz and ladies Kizomba for the past 7 years, and formed Australia’s First Ladies Kizomba troupe “Fogo e Ouro.”

I am now based in Europe where I have been teaching, collabing and developing my work since late 2021.  

My focus is to bring empowerment to the followers in Kizomba by teaching feminine embodiment, follower technique and creative expression. Whilst my goal within the couple dance is to give people the tools to express both unity and artistry in their dance, depending on their level and what is most needed for the students. I love to help people to connect with themselves through dance, and artistcally I love to create stories, questions and take people on a journey. 

Aside from dancing I am a huge travellin fan and lover of langauges! I am happy to be now teaching in English, Spanish + Portunhol and Franglish ;)

My deepest wish is that you experience moments of deep ecstasy, rapture and joy as you remember the essence of your being through dance.
